Taking place in Sweden’s musical hub, Way out West will once again bring an alternative buzz to Gothenburg in August 2017. One of Europe’s most distinctive summer festivals;  quirky, well-organised, and all green, with a diverse musical offering.

With strong commitment to environmental friendliness, Way out West implemented a meat and fish free ethos in 2012, offering vegetarian options to the festivalgoers. In 2016, the milk taps were turned off as well, providing oat substitutes. These green measures have helped Way Out West reduce its carbon footprint, making it the first festival in Sweden to become KRAV-certified.

The multiple stages set out across Slottskogen Park host an array of music genres, catering to a mixed audience. You will find the dressed-to-impress, flower-crown wearing fashionistas, as well as the laid-back, casual attired individuals… all gathered for a three-day musical escape. Spread through the festival site there are numerous pop-up activities where the festivalgoers get the opportunity to tantalize all their senses.

The daytime vibes are continued after hours with Stay Out West. Situated in the most unique venues throughout the city, festivalgoers are able to experience additional acts of the highest caliber in more intimate settings. It’s an all-round quirky music festival experience, with emphasis on the visuals through design & décor and clever modern functionalities, amidst the playful atmosphere.

Last year’s 10th anniversary brought A-list talent such as SIA, Morrisey,  The Libertines, Dua Lipa, Massive Attack, and Grace Jones to the stage. This year the headlines include Frank Ocean, Chance the Rapper, The XX, Lana Del Rey, Flume and many more renowned international artists.

Beyond the festival grounds lays Sweden’s charming west coast city, a must-see! With a fusion of neo classical and modern architecture, canals crossing the city center leading to the Kattegat seas; Gothenburg is one of the most picturesque spots of Scandinavia. This unexposed city is increasingly attracting tourists, flaunting a unique dose of Nordic and international culture, art, fresh seafood, a recognized café scenery, and many more signified traditions.

Tickets are now on sale on wayoutwest.se/en priced from 1995 SEK plus booking fee (about £178) for a weekend pass. VIP options are also available.
