WHAT YOU SEE/M
My name is Tamera and in relation to my social media, I am an expression of the artist I am.
I have a lot of different qualities to me, a lot of different colours and edges; the way I try to put that across in my social media is by exaggerating certain shapes and colours that I find myself connecting with.
I think I’m a bit of a paradox, like you know I’m shy but I’m very bold, I’m loving and cold when I have to be and I’m strong but I’m soft and I’m always changing - always changing and evolving but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Why be something when you can be everything.
I think I can only answer this question by turning it around and saying what is my social media platform in relation to who I am because I have to come first for the social media platform to be created.
I really enjoy choosing what to put on my social media profile to announce a release or to really remind people that actually the most interesting part about me is my art because there is nothing else I can give a stranger over the internet.
I find it very weird, the proliferation of social media profiles in our world right now. I’m always wary that people think they know somebody because they follow them on social media. Like, my social media profile is not a good summary of who I am. I never want people to think that we have a close relationship because we follow each other - people are a lot more complex than that.
We can’t foster close relationships and close friendships so please just enjoy this little curational project I have.
My name is Meng and it means dreams in Chinese.
My social media platform and my profile is actually a window, or my way to show my audience how I see the world.
As a model, it can be difficult for some because they say it’s all about your following on social media instead of your looks or your relationship with people, but I think we should all embrace technology and move forward together.
It’s kind of funny but I guess we could all be famous for like, a little bit, in our lives.
In relation to my social media, I am an opportunity.
It takes two to tango, there’s nothing social about posting into a void, so with my social media, I invite conversation. It’s an opportunity to learn something, maybe about me but more about yourself. Good, bad, if you like it, if you don’t like it, why don’t you like it.
It’s quite fortunate that we live in this time where we can have this global dialogue, which, that is the best part about exploring within my own expression on social media.
